Fodor's Expert Review Stockman's Restaurant
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
The salad bar is shaped like a tepee and there's a 1903 map of the United States at this locals' hangout since 1933. On the menu are burgers, salads, prime rib, steaks, and seafood. It's a good stop for dessert and coffee (try the thick, crumbly cheesecake served warm). Early risers can grab breakfast here before 6 am flanked by mineral-field workers. The restaurant serves lunch, too. Smoking is allowed, so it can get hazy at times. You can sit in the no-smoking section, but there's no wall separating it from the rest of the room. After eating you can get a drink, shoot a game of pool, or relax in the roomy, low-lighted lounge. There's also a beer and package store for those on the run.
