Interstate 90 is the most direct route from Seattle to Spokane over the Cascade Mountains (Snoqualmie Pass). U.S. 2 (Stevens Pass), an alternate route, begins north of Seattle near Everett, and passes through Wenatchee and Coulee City. South of Interstate 90, U.S. 395 leads to the Tri-Cities from the east; the Tri-Cities can also be accessed via Interstate 82 from the west. Past the Tri-Cities, continue on Interstate 82 then U.S. 12 to reach Walla Walla. U.S. 195 traverses southeastern Washington to Pullman. Leave U.S. 195 at Colfax, heading southwest on Highway 26 and then 127, and finally U.S. 12 to Dayton and Walla Walla. Gas stations along the main highways cater to truckers, and some are open 24 hours.
