Ride-Sharing

Both Uber and Lyft operate in Washington, D.C., and may or may not be cheaper than a regular taxi depending on the time or day and distance traveled. Pooled rides are almost always cheaper for a single rider than a taxi but are almost always more expensive than the Metro. For a group of four people, however, a ride-share can be cheaper for a short trip than the Metro.
