Outside Badlands National Park

Badlands National Park is off Interstate 90 with two separate entrances. Badlands can be a one- or two-day stop for visitors who are traveling through the area or a place of frequent visits to locals. Located 50 miles east of the edge of the Black Hills (and Rapid City, the largest community on this side of the state), Badlands allows travelers a unique stop in a highly dense area of national parks, monuments, and memorials. Its close proximity to national treasures such as Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, Devils Tower National Monument, and Custer State Park allows visitors to take in a wealth of sightseeing excursions in a relatively small area. The Black Hills provide a wonderful backdrop for the dry canyon and dusty buttes of the badlands.
