A meticulous renovation transformed a marble-adorned, circa-1905 federal courthouse into a boutique hotel where your sleek room might have formerly been a holding cell or a prosecutor's office. The hostess stand in the Bizou Brasserie, which offers French-inspired fare and a wonderful assortment of morning pastries, once served as a witness stand, and juries once deliberated at a large table that's now in the bar area.
