Fodor's Expert Review Camelback Mountain

Named for its resemblance to a camel's hump, Phoenix's most iconic landmark is also one of its most popular hiking destinations. Its two trails, Echo Canyon Trail and Cholla Trail, are both difficult to climb but lead to stunning panoramic views of the Valley. Even if you don't hike, you can still spot the towering peak from many restaurants and hotels in the Camelback Corridor and Paradise Valley neighborhoods. The mountain is a 20-minute drive from Downtown Phoenix.
