Most of the major chains are represented in Anchorage, and there are some strong independent hotels as well. Anchorage is also home to many bed-and-breakfasts. New chain hotels have clustered in Midtown in recent years, but consider staying Downtown if you're traveling without a car. Reservations at least a week ahead are a must for the major hotels, especially during the summer months.
