Dress Code

People tend to get somewhat dressed up for the symphony, the opera, and even theater performances in Montréal, perhaps more so than in several large U.S. cities. Men will wear sleek black pants, a button-down, and even a tie. Some women wear dark jeans, but it's not uncommon to see ladies decked out in skirts and dresses with strappy shoes (even in the dead of winter) and carrying clutches.
