Palazzo Naiadi Hotel

Why We Like It

It's hard to get more central than this, with rooms that look out onto both a well-trafficked piazza, metro station, and Roman ruins. We love the incredibly helpful staff that will work to plan out every detail of your trip. The building is a monument to neoclassical architecture with its huge arches, high ceilings and decorative moldings. Amenities are incredible from the first-class spa to the rooftop pool that looks out onto the old city. Restaurant and bar options are abundant. And the hotel is filled with original Roman art that pays tribute to its locations just across from the Baths of Diocletian.

Fodor's Expert Review

Located in one of the most spectacular piazzas in the city, this is the \"It girl\" of Rome's hotel scene, where high-rollers come to party by the rooftop pool—you'll experience exquisite service and pampering from the minute you waltz through the door. Spacious guest rooms are predictably luscious in an uptown way, with oh-so-silky linens and gilt-frame mirrors; some have views of the fountain in the piazza outside. Unlike its naughty younger brother the Aleph, the Exedra is a model of Neoclassical respectability, but there's a glint of cutting edge in the paparazzi-inspired (and inspiring) Tazio Restaurant. Why stay here, rather than at the umpteen other expensively elegant hotels in central Rome? You can think about it while you lounge by that rooftop pool.

Room

Rooms here breathe elegance and neoclassical luxury with their massive ceilings and expertly molded detail. Decor is relaxing in taupes, silver and gold, with soft carpeting and subtle wallpaper. We love the huge comfortable beds with plenty of pillow options. Many superior rooms have balconies with great city views. The suites and panorama rooms have a direct view onto the Piazza della Repubblica and the Diocletian Baths.

Tip Luxury suites have individual incredible details like Murano glass chandeliers, green marble floors, multiple bedrooms and floors and their own dining and living rooms.

Bathroom

Bathrooms are huge and beautifully done in marble with abundant mirrors and counter space. A full range of Etro products is provided, which are replenished throughout the day. You'll also find slippers and bathrobes, so plush you may want to take one home.

The bright entryway is a prime example of neoclassical architecture. The palatial lobby is a sight to behold, with its huge arched moldings, sky-high ceiling, and historic mosaic floor. The small gym has a few cardio and weight machines that are a bit outdated, but there's a lovely view over the Piazza. You can also book their personal trainer or yoga trainer for one-on-one or small group sessions.

Dining

Guests can start their day at La Frusta Breakfast Room, where huge light-filled windows look out onto the Piazza. There is a smorgasbord of healthy and sweet options. At the 1950s-inspired Tazio Restaurant, tables have sultry dark lighting under individual cascading chandeliers. The private tables make you feel like you're the only one in the place. Mediterrean gastronomic dishes delight in both presentation and flavor.

Drinking

Tazio Bar is a dolce vita-inspired champagne bar where the city's glitterati come to be seen at night. The romantic red mood lighting and sparkling chandelier above the white and black checkerboard floor makes it a great date night.
