Fodor's Expert Review Best Western Museum Hotel
Bouboulinas 16, Athens, Attica, 10682, Greece
If you'd like to stay just a few blocks from the National Archaeological Museum, this reliable hotel offers elegant rooms in good, clean condition, as well as friendly, helpful service, free Wi-Fi, and a satisfying breakfast. This is not a design, hip, or exciting hotel, but care goes into how it's run, and the standard is gratifyingly decent. The location (on a street named after a female War of Independence heroine) is not only next to the fascinating museum but also in a neighborhood with plenty of interesting aspects to explore, which is a plus. You'll find quirky stores that sell everything from musical instruments and model airplane kits to vintage records and esoteric books), as well as off-the-grid galleries, café-bars; and a few good restaurants. The walk to Syntagma Square from the hotel isn't longer than 20 minutes.
