Why We Like It

A bargain hotel to be sure, it provides a clean, quiet and comfortable place to lay your head that's close enough to transport to make getting around fast and efficient.

Fodor's Expert Review

On a quiet corner in a residential neighborhood, this small Haussmannian building between the Arc de Triomphe and bustling Porte Maillot is a great deal if you don't mind the out-of-the-way location. It's near the Palais des Congrès, making it convenient for many business travelers.

You Should Know Tiny elevators accommodate two people and luggage, barely.

Room

Cheerful, comfortable and very quiet rooms have pleasantly colored striped fabrics and dark wood trim and armoires. Ask for an upper-floor room with a view across the Rive Droite rooftops. There's free Wi-Fi and all rooms are air conditioned.

You Should Know Rooms were last refurbished in 2010.

Bathroom

Modern baths are ample and serviceable, with all the basic amenities and a few with windows and views. Most offer walk-in showers, though some come with tubs and hand showers.

Lobby

A small but comfortable lobby comprises the reception area and a small lounge and breakfast room where you can also have a beverage and work during the day.

Tip Nearby Palais des Congrès is a convention center, cinema, concert and performance venue and an upscale shopping mall all rolled into one. It also offers plenty of fast and convenient dining.

Dining

A buffet breakfast, served in a corner of the lobby, provides all the basics, coffee and tea, fresh croissants, bread and pastries, cereal, etc.

Tip If you're looking for a fancier Parisian-style breakfast, head over to Angelina, at the Palais des Congrès, a branch of the famous tea salon on the rue de Rivoli, for a charming breakfast and their famously rich chocolat chaude.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

5 minutes to line no. 1, Paris's fastest and most central line. From here you can reach the airport RER at Châtelet. Though a neighborhood on the fringes of Paris, there are major sites within walking distance—including some nice discoveries outside Paris, like the fabulous Foundation Louis Vuitton and the Jardin d'Acclimatation amusement park and petting zoo for kids in the nearby Bois de Boulogne (an adorable train takes you there from Porte Maillot)—and business travelers headed to the nearby Palais des Congrès will appreciate the proximity. This is typical residential Haussmannian neighborhood, somewhat upscale, but with plenty of lively cafés, restaurants, bars, and convenience shopping within minutes of the hotel. Be aware that Porte Maillot is under major construction until 2020, though the noise and disruption does not affect the hotel or nearby transport.

Restaurants

Nearby Auberge Dab (7-minute walk) is a beloved neighborhood stalwart; a great place to dine on French classics among the locals. The 36 euro dinner menu at Graindorge (9-minute walk), a local Art Deco-style favorite, is a spectacular deal—and you'll be the only tourist there.

Bars

Though your best bet for a relaxing glass of wine may be at one of the local cafés, especially in warmer weather, there are also some good hotel bars for a late night out, live music and cocktails. Jazz Club Etoile (6-minute walk), at the nearby Méridien Etoile hotel is one of Paris's top jazz clubs, with a sophisticated clientele, good drinks and the promise of a great Parisian night out.
