In Roman times Faversham was a thriving seaport. Today the port is long gone, and all that’s left is a waterway at the edge of town known as the Creek. Still, Faversham is a worthwhile stop for those in search of Ye Quaint Olde Englande. The town center, with its Tudor houses grouped around the 1574 guildhall and covered market, looks like a stage set. There are few actual sights here, as such, but it's a lovely place to take a break and have a stroll. You can reserve a tour of the Shepherd Neame brewery, near the heart of town; the visitor center is at 11 Court Street.
