Why We Like It

Given the location in the heart of Chelsea, rooms are reasonably well-priced. Standard accommodation may be on the small side, but that might just inspire you to spend more time in the delightful conservatory bar. A personal hotel experience with friendly, helpful staff, My Chelsea Hotel will appeal to those who don’t mind their chic stays to be a little rough around the edges.

Fodor's Expert Review

A sweet neighbourhood hotel wrapped up as something a little more luxe, the beauty of My Hotel Chelsea is the location and its ability to offer guests the Kensington experience. Public areas may be swankier than the rooms, but this is Chelsea, a London neighbourhood all about the flash of the exterior. Friendly staff keep the vibe warm and welcoming.

You Should Know If talk of mindfulness, wellness and superfoods turn you off, the hotel’s dining options won’t be for you, with salad bowls and kale surprise appearing on a menu focused on health and wellbeing. Not the place to overindulge.

Room

They might not be as overtly slick as the lobby, but rooms have a certain relaxed style aesthetic that leaves the look precariously balanced between chic boutique hotel space and your stylish friend’s spare room—which we’re all for. For a space that falls in the direction of the chic boutique hotel, opt for the Magnolia Room and enjoy the four-poster bed of this penthouse suite.

Tip Family rooms with pull out sofa beds and partitioned sleeping quarters are a great option.

Bathroom

White tiles and millennial pink granite keep the bathrooms on trend with some rooms featuring walk-in showers and others dual shower and tub.

Lobby

Dark walls, botanical prints, oversized palms, dark green velvet banquets and ritzy gold detailing tick all the boxes of interior design trends. Located in the heart of Chelsea, moments from the Stella McCartney store and super chic Conran Shop, the lobby and neighboring conservatory at My Hotel Chelsea hold their own in the style stakes and make for a hip hangout spot.

Dining

Tanya’s café serves an array of raw super foods and rainbow salad bowls. You won’t find many hotels in London—if any—with healthier dining options than this.

Drinking

Probably somewhat different from your living room at home, the trendy Living Room café and bar is the place to don that new outfit just purchased from one of the many chic boutiques around Fulham Road. An intimate space, the beautifully styled conservatory is a highlight of the hotel.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

If you want to do like a Sloane Ranger, then transport is all about black cabs, darling. However, if you have to get the Tube then head to the nearby South Kensington Station where you can catch the Underground into the West End in ten minutes. The area is best explored on foot, with the King’s Road, Sloane Square and the South Kensington Museums all within a small radius of the hotel.

Restaurants

Transformed from generic old pub into gastro destination extraordinaire, The Hour Glass (4-minute walk) is a good choice for restaurant classics in an informal space. For something completely different, visit Colbert (13-minute walk), a sweet, high-end Parisian bistro in Sloane Square.

Bars

Catch a drink at the Royal Court Bar (13-minute walk) before following it up with a show at the famous theatre. For a fancier, romantic spot for cocktails, prop up the bar—on a cocktail stall, of course—and work your way through the Italian spritz menu at Ritorno (16-minute walk).
