Fodor's Expert Review The Daffodil
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Housed in a former art deco cinema, the Daffodil is themed along 1920s lines with a touch of glamour and an enticing menu. The menu features dishes like twice-baked Double Gloucester soufflé, calves' liver with mustard mash, and curry spiced chicken breast. It's dimly lit, with sweeping staircases and an open kitchen where the movie screen once stood; the best view is from the Circle Bar where you can also sip cocktails. Lunch and early-evening menus are a good deal. Tasting dishes for two are also available. There's live jazz on Monday evening and during lunchtime on Saturday.
