Don't be put off by the 10-minute uphill walk from the center of Bath—you'll be rewarded by a wonderful view of the city from the lovely garden and upper stories of this Georgian guesthouse. The mixture of traditional furnishings and modern touches makes for a smooth and attractive decor. There are open fires in winter and a lush garden for spring and summer. Rooms 3, 4, and 5 have the best views, while 9, 11, and 12 open straight onto the garden. If the full English breakfast is too daunting, indulge in coffee and croissants in bed.
