North Zealand has historically been the favorite holiday spot for Denmark’s most affluent families, and the area from Hornbæk to Hundested---known as the Danish Riviera---is home to a lovely selection of traditional beach hotels, picturesque former fishing villages, beautiful vacation homes, and a host of restaurants, bars, and delicatessen shops. The seemingly endless stretch of sandy beaches is broken only by green forests, small marinas, and holiday homes. Base yourself in a traditional beach hotel and spend a few days walking in the woods, lounging on the beaches, and visiting some of North Zealand’s many museums.
