Fodor's Expert Review Cotton Tree
375 Conch Point Rd., West Bay, Grand Cayman, KY1-1206, Cayman Islands Fodor's Choice
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Cayman-born owner Heather Lockington has created an authentic haven where guests can embrace Caymanian heritage and reconnect with nature without sacrificing comfort. Four enormous, pastel, plantation-style, two-bedroom, boutique-chic cottages nestle amid lush tropical gardens, steps from the Caribbean (only Almond Cottage lacks sea views). Though individually designed, all feature cathedral ceilings, vibrant local paintings, stunning stone-and-wood statuary, South American teak furnishings, French doors, 600-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, cutting-edge appliances, and high-end utensils. In the baths you'll find Elemis products, a rain shower, and Jacuzzi tub. The three 42-inch plasma TVs, an iPod docking station, a Nintendo Wii, free Wi-Fi, a laser printer, and a full media library will please techies. The refrigerator is prestocked with morning necessities (complimentary); Continental breakfast can be delivered. Staffing can be arranged. Heather will arrange handpicked activities, including biking in Barkers National Park, bird-watching, and on-site art and culinary classes.
