When to Go
Peak Season: December to Mid-May
Prices shoot up around Christmas, Western New Year, and Chinese New Year (between late January and early February). Expect hotels and flights to book up rapidly.
Off Season: June to September
Hot, humid summers mean lower hotel occupancies and slightly less expensive flights. And while Taipei is steamy, you can always find respite on the beach and in the mountains.
Shoulder Season: September to November
These are the driest and most comfortable months in Taiwan, when temperatures hover around 80°F and hotel rates are more reasonable. Chinese national holiday Golden Week falls around the end of September or first week of October, and flight and hotel prices will be high.
