Clarke Quay, Robertson Quay, and Mohamed Sultan

Set along the mouth of the Singapore River, Clarke Quay stands upstream from Boat Quay, which was a trading center during the colonial era. These days its once-abandoned warehouses and shophouses have become part of a brightly colored maze of restaurants, bars, and clubs. Farther upstream is the more laid-back Robertson Quay, which nevertheless has a good selection of bars and restaurants of its own. Mohamed Sultan Road, to the north, is best known for its nightclubs and restaurants.
