Why We Like It
The Grand Nikko Odaiba is a solid high-end option for Tokyo tourists looking for a resort feel in the big city. This hotel is tastefully decorated, has a massive supply of restaurants, and is right on the waterfront, giving guests a front row seat to the bay. On top of all that, the hotel provides free shuttle access to Disney, is walking distance to major shops and attractions, and is attached to the monorail that takes you back into the city. We’d recommend coming in the summer to enjoy all the outdoor attractions on this manmade island in the city.

The Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba is a luxury high-rise hotel on the manmade Tokyo City Waterfront. The hotel is connected to the monorail that takes you back to the mainland and sits right atop the beaches that make Odaiba a great summer destination. Inside, guests will marvel at the size and amount of amenities that includes 12 restaurant and bar outlets, two pools, and even a running track. If you’re looking for a resort-like feel in the heart of Tokyo, Grand Nikko will fit the bill.

Room
Tastefully decorated rooms have simple light wood furnishings, big views of the harbor, a variety of pillow options and free coffee, water, and tea.
Tip If you stay on the executive floor you’ll have access to the lounge with a host of perks. There are a variety of complimentary meal services during the day and even a free cocktail service from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The fitness club also comes free of charge when you stay up here.
Bathroom
Bathrooms are awash in marble and come with large shower/bathtub combinations. There are a bevy of free toiletries including bath salts and products are Le Mondor by Shiseido.
Lobby
The giant, impersonal lobby has polished floors, really high ceilings, and monstrous pillows. The waiting area features a domed ceiling with a crescent shaped sprawl of chairs for people waiting to check in.
Pool
There are both indoor and outdoor pools at the hotel, though the outdoor one is only open during summer months.
You Should Know Access to the pool is included in an overall fee for the fitness area. You’ll have to pay 1,080 Yen for the privilege – unless you stay in the executive rooms.
Spa
Bexchange Shinra Odaiba Acupuncture and Moxacautery is the hotel’s unique acupuncture spot to help soothe big city tensions. The AN Spa is also available for massages, facials, aromatherapy, and more.
Gym
Fitness Center Le Club has hardwood floors, Precor machines, free weights, a running track, and even a spot to practice your golf skills. There’s an entrance fee, but there’s a lot to work with here.
Tip The hotel tries to give you a little more for your money. Check their schedule for a variety of classes like yoga, water aerobics, and others.
Dining
There is no shortage of food options at the hotel and undoubtedly something for everyone. Choices range from Japanese and Chinese to Italian and steak. The two best are probably The Grill on 30th, a top-floor steakhouse with great cuts and greater views. Or, the Hamayu, a teppanyaki joint with master chefs cooking up sizzling slices of fish and wagyu beef.
Drinking
The Bar & Lounge on the 30th floor has perfect views of the Rainbow Bridge and perfect pours of whiskey. You’ll find the bar inside The Grill on 30th and it’s also open for afternoon tea.

Getting Around
You can walk to just about everything on this manmade peninsula, but there’s also a free shuttle bus that circles around to all the major malls and attractions. Additionally, the hotel is connected to the monorail which can whisk you back to the mainland. If you want to go to Disney, this is a great disembarkation spot where you can take the hotel’s free shuttle bus or get on the nearby subway which takes you pretty directly.
Restaurants
Pancake junkies should walk along the water and head over to Eggs’n Things Odaiba (9-minute walk). Based out of Hawaii, this joint has loads of all-day breakfast items. If the variety of restaurants inside Nikko aren’t cutting it, head next door to the Hilton Odaiba and feast on mouthwatering wagyu inside Sakura (3-minute walk).
Bars
If you eat at the Hilton, stay and grab a drink at the Captain’s Bar (3-minute walk). This ocean-themed watering hole serves solid sips and is reminiscent of a cabin in an ocean-liner. Looking for some cold brews? Head over to Blend Meister Café where can down large pints while people-watching outside.
