Mail is delivered only to post-office boxes in Muscat. It is expensive and takes a long time to arrive. There is no mail service available outside of Muscat.
Shipping Packages
It is incredibly expensive to ship packages via typical courier services like DHL, FedEx, and UPS in Oman, as the price is generally around 9 rials per kilo. Cargo shipping services are the only affordable way to send items home. Most of the door-to-door shipping companies have offices in the business district of Ruwi and can send packages for 1 to 1.5 rials per kilo with a 10-kilo minimum. Cargo packages typically arrive within two weeks.
