I will probably be staying at Evergreen Laurel Hotel, 8 Pl. Georges Pompidou, 92300 Levallois-Perret, (Paris) France on my last night of a Trafalgar tour. Part of the package is that they take you to the airport at the end.
I think I want to head to Switzerland by train (near to Lucerne). Is there a train station at the airport I should link into, or is it easier getting to it from my accommodation?
It is a tour with Trafalgar finishing in September, and as yet, I'm not sure how flexible they are to drop me elsewhere, if not the airport.
Also, how will I go with only speaking English?

You'll likely depart from Gare de l'Est and make a couple connections en route to Luzern. No sense in going to the airport, you'd just have to backtrack into the city. If Trafalgar won't deliver you to the train station, just get there via cab/uber/metro. If you are schlepping luggage, I'd go with cab/uber but do allow for traffic congestion; depending on time of day, the trip could take from 30 to 60 minutes. If you do opt for Metro, which should take just under 30 minutes, from station Pont de Levallois - Bécon close to your hotel take line 3 direction toward Gallieni to Opera, transfer to line 7 direction toward La Courneuve-8-Mai-1945 and alight at Gare de l'Est.

As to your language restriction, signage on the metro is usually pretty clear, and cab/uber drivers would just need to know your destination which you could write if not OK with speaking it. Once you get to the train station, you will need to locate the track from which your train is leaving, and that info is generally displayed on a large board in the lobby area. At the entry to the pier for your departure track there will be a diagram showing the train car numbers, just find the one that appears on your ticket.

Trains to Switzerland now all leave from Gare de Lyon. You would probably want the train to Zürich.

The last Switzerland bound train left Paris Gare de l'Est 12 1/2 years ago.

There are plenty of apps that would help you to select the best itinerary. Starting with Google maps but I am not sure they have the real time capability in Paris (mainly helpful for buses that are less frequent than metro). Personally, I use Transit in many cities around the world. Curious to hear other experiences.

just be cautious with line 14. It is currently expanded at both ends (Orly and St Denis) and there are several days it is closed.
Works should be completed some time in June, meaning the end of disruptions.

If you get a free ride to CDG, take the TGV from there to Basel and switch to a local line to get to Lucerne.

The timeatbles that come up are valid, of course.They show either solutions with TGV up to Strasbourg plus RER from there to Basel or solutions with train changes at Chatelet and Gare de Lyon.
The direct Basel - Zurich bound TGV start fromt GARE DE LYON:

Strasbourg would be definitely worth an overnight stay. Continuing to Switzerland is a snap from there.

Would you believe - after pondering all options, I think I'm going to extend my tour a day which will take me back into London, where I feel more familiar with things - and I speak the language.
Then I think I'll fly direct over to my friend in Switzerland.
