Trail Mix

I am planning on doing a lot of hiking in Crete and without checking purchased several large bays of trail mix which include nuts as well as dried fruit. I dont wish to land in Athens only to throw them away. Does anyone know if they are allowed to be brought in?

I've often brought similar snacks with me to Europe & no one's ever asked what I had in my luggage. I cannot imagine why it'd be an issue.

I always bring several granola bars and some beef jerky, all in their original individual wrapping. I don't know if the still-wrapped condition makes any difference but, like MmePerdu, I've never been asked.

Since most travelers pass through the "nothing to declare" lane at customs, "not getting asked" is not the same as "allowed." The responsibility to declare rests with the traveler knowing and following the rules.

Plant based products are ok but most animal products are not. (that includes both fresh meat, cured or prepared meat products, and most dairy)

They do sell nuts and dried fruit in Crete...
