Hs anyone here done a transpacific cruise on Seabourn?

We are considering a transpacific cruise on Seabourn. I can only find this cruise on the Seabourn website, it isn't shown on United Cruises or Vacations To Go, nor can I find this cruise on Cruisecritic. i'm guessing it may be a new cruise, offered for the first time in 2018. I'm interested in any comments on this cruise.

My husband and I took a cruise across the ocean after one of our trips but on Windstar and it was amazing. I never thought crossing the ocean would be so peaceful. We have sailed with Seabourn before but on a different itinerary. We loved Seabourn but my husband and I prefer a luxury experience without dressing up and all that comes with the ultra luxury ships. The casualness of Windstar combined with their service was what my husband and I where looking for. You can find Windstars transpacific cruises here https://www.windstarcruises.com/dest...ean-crossings/

Thanks for your post, Amy. Which ocean crossing did you do?

I have not done a transatlantic - thought about it but I am a little antsy after one day at sea! Not for me. If you check cruisecritic on the boards, go to Seaborne and type in transatlantic or crossing you will see threads on this subject. You will have to join their site to do a search.

That said, we have done 6 cruises with Windstar and love them. 3 in the Caribbean and 3 in Europe. They are great on service, nice, interesting and unpretentious passengers and you don't have to do the dress up stuff. Never used Seaborne as yet. Windstar has 6 ships: 3 sailing ships - 2 145 passenger ships (Windstar 7 Windspirit) and 1 310 passenger (WindSurf). They also bought 3 motor yachts from Seaborne a few years ago that were called the 'triplets' by Seaborne. They each hold 210 passengers. They are the Star Pride, Star Breeze and something else. They have larger cabins than the sailing ships with room for a sofa and bathtubs. The sailing ships have much smaller rooms (188 sq ft) but well laid out and comfortable beds. The Surf does have a number of suites, basically 2 rooms with the wall removed, but they are much more expensive of course.

I have asked the Windstar staff about their transatlantics, in moments when I enjoy it so much that I think I might never want to get off the ship. I was told that there are often writers and artists on the ship who love the focused time on board. The ships are rarely full for these trips so the small ships have an even smaller group on board. One officer told me that they tried a transatlantic with a stop or two at islands and it was met with much negative feedback by the regular transatlantic crowd.

Kathie: I am so sorry to barge into this thread but I would very much like to communicate privately with you about a trip to Myanmar. You have helped me in past trips to Indonesia, Thailand and India. Would you be so kind to send me an email: Here is my email address: [email protected]

Thanks.
