Varadero is a great white-sanded Beach with great Beachfront Resorts, usually not as high quality and comfort as other countries even being rated 5 stars.
By other side, the staff is friendly, the food is tasteful and most of this places have entertainment shows for their guest which includes lively music, dancing lessons...

our Aussie friends didn't like the hotel they stayed at in Varadero either.
The ones at the Cayo Santa Maria might be better - we went there on a day trip from Remedios and the beach was lovely, but there isn't a lot more to see than that.

We hated the AI we ended up at after a great 3 weeks tour in n Cuba.mist if it comes from the fact that AI us a different world with no contact with locals except paid ones and a lot of Canadians on Mojitos or Cuba libre at 9 am or plastered from midday. Our son got a bacteria and it was time to go back.

The best options for a quiet Beachfront All-Inclusive Resort are located in the Northern Cayos like Cayo Coco and Cayo Santamaria. Also can find very nice alternatives in Varadero but usually less quieter since it's a very trendy and touristy destination.
