London to Morocco/stopover; Passport? Ideas?
I'm planning a trip that will combine a trip to Morocco with a trip to London.
1. I would like to fly to London from the U.S. on a round-trip ticket.
2. On arriving in London, I would fly to Morocco from the London arrival airport on a one-way ticket to Marrakech. Ideally, I would depart to Morocco several hours after arriving in London. I would have to clear customs and then check in for the Morocco flight, given this scenario.
3. After the Moroccan vacation, I would fly back to London on a one-way ticket from Tangier.
4. Then, I'd spend 5 or so days in London and return to the U.S.
Question 1: Does anyone see any potential passport or other types of problems that might arise with this schedule?
Question 2: This plan is a "stop over"-type trip where I would be stopping over on the return, not the outgoing leg. Does anyone know of any airlines that might offer London stopovers with a final destination in Morocco that could work for me?

Follow-up. These questions were posted earlier in TripAdvisor. I received good advice there about looking into open jaw flights to accomplish my goal and how much time to allow for clearing customs in Heathrow and checking in for the Moroccan flight. I have a U.S. passport.

I've combined the 2 countries several times and have always just bought RT to & from LHR, then shopped around for the least expensive/most convenient budget airline flights to & from Morocco that don't leave too early in the morning.
I recommend you not decide in advance which cities in Morocco you'd like to fly to & from but instead look at the possibilities and choose flights with the schedules & fares that suit you best. The only reason I'd necessarily end a Morocco trip in Tangier is if I planned to travel on by ferry. Otherwise, if flights are better say from Marrakech, you could visit Tangier if you want to anytime during your visit, build an itinerary using the connections that look best. Flights to & from Morocco would both be one way.
Most budget airlines use Stansted or Luton airports from London. The choice may come down to crossing town to one of those airports or a stop on the way, for instance on BA which also flies to Morocco from Gatwick. If you want a non-stop from Heathrow it may have to be on RAM to Casablanca. Others are Ryanair and Easyjet.
Check out some possibilities here, all London airports to all Moroccan airports:

I don't think they include RAM which isn't budget. Try their site or Skyscanner.

Try this site for flights to Morocco: https://www.cheapoair.com/
However, the cheapest flights go to Casablanca.
Chances are that cheap flights would leave from Stansted or Gatwick. It can be done, if the flight to Morocco leaves in the late afternoon. When we went to Portugal quite a few years ago, we arrived in Heathrow in the morning and took a shuttle to Stansted to leave in the late afternoon for Porto.
You might find a similar arrangement to get to Morocco, which would save you time and money unless you really want to sandwich your Moroccan visit between two stays in London.
